When the battery charging is consumed by usage of device or accessories are left switched on for long time the electrical energy is drained. To recharge the battery, chargers are used but some times some problems can be encountered. Batteries are used in many devices like laptops, cell phones and in cars also.

In laptop battery chargers the common problem is a high-pitched buzz or a tone emanating from the charger. The sound is really slow that you cannot easily hear it. But in case of loud buzz you can replace the charger. However, if the charger is working properly and not overheating then it will be unnecessary.

Mostly one cord of the charger should be plugged into a switch and the other into the laptop. If the cords are not connected properly the charger won't charge the battery. If the chargers are dropped very often, or left in sun or heat for long time they can lose their function. They cannot be repaired and need to be replaced.

In cars also arises a problem of battery charger not working. Chargers of cars are usually of two types; manual or automatic. Automatic chargers stop charging if the battery is fully charged but manual chargers needs to be monitored by the user. They must be disconnected when the battery is fully charged. If they are not monitored overcharging may damage the battery and the charger too. If the connections of the charger are not properly made the voltage on the meter may not rise. But if the connections are made properly then there may be a dead cell in the battery.
